I hear you! I love Steve so much, and I'm trying to find ways to show him that as often as possible. But as you know, for every action that God has, it seems that Satan has an equal yet opposite reaction. It seems that, especially as women in today's society, we have to constantly be on guard against Satan's attacks at our minds towards our husbands. It is so easy to look at someone and point out their faults, and how they don't measure up, don't do something that we want, don't react to a situation the way that we would, etc.. But it takes the strength that only God can give to try to do the right thing. To bless our hubbies and not curse them, to treat them the way that we would like to be treated. By doing so, we are setting our marriage up for blessings, because the Lord is pleased with us.
I know that I have seen and reaped those blessings when I follow God's plan, yet I have also seen and wallowed in the curses that are results of doing things my way. I continually pray for the strength to say and do what Jesus would do when it comes to my marriage. And though it may be hard at times, and though I may stumble, I know that our love would not be a strong as it is to this day, had we not turned over many unruly circumstances to the Lord.
We truly have a "Spiritual Love", that (with His help) will withstand the tests that we will face while living in this world. I also know that we have not "arrived" yet, and I am looking to gain much wisdom and encouragement from you ladies that have been married much longer than I. You obviously have much to offer. I'm all ears.
