Now, this is a chapter that every woman can learn from:
Managing Your Money
Which part of this chapter offered you the greatest challenge as a wife?
What info was new or served as a fresh reminder?
Money Matters to God
Money is to be earned (by working for it) - Gen 3:17-19; Pro. 10:4, 13:11, 28:19
Money is to be given (Cheerfully, to the needy, to God, His Church, His Servants, and for His Causes)- Deut. 8:18; 1 Cor 16:1-2; 2 Cor 9:5-7; Pro. 31:20
Luke 6:38 promises that the measure that we give is the one that we will receive.
Money is to be managed and saved (so that we may be wise and prepared when the unthinkable strikes) - Prov 24:3-4; 27:23-27
[glow=red,2,300]**How do these truths spotlight the importance of being a wise and frugal manager of your resources?[/glow]
Money is not to be desired - Tim 6:6-11, 18; Pro. 15:16; 16:8
Money Matters in Marriage
[glow=red,2,300]Reading through Prov. 31-:10-31, can you find at least 5 ways that the "virtuous wife" contributed financially to her marriage?[/glow]
What ideas can you take away from that passage (especially vs 11) that will help you be a better steward of your joint assets?
Money Should Matter to You
How can you use the following practices to help you do a better job w/God's resources?
*praying, *giving, *saving, *budgeting, *doing without, *bewaring (of greed, lust, bitterness, and envy), *growing in contentment
[glow=red,2,300]Are you weak in any of these areas? If so, place them on your prayer list, and get started working on it![/glow]
Mastering your Money
Re-read 1 Tim. 6:6-11, and then look at your checkbook/bank statements/ online account, and ask yourself:
[glow=red,2,300]Am I mastering my $, or is it mastering me?[/glow]
Read Prov. 3:9-10 and think of ways to :
~ present to God the first-fruits of all your income
~put those communication skills to work and talk to your husband
~put some personal goals into motion and make some personal changes
~purchase a book about the financial in's and out's of home management
Doing your Part
What are a few things that you already do to contribute to the managing of finances in your marriage?
What are additional ways you can help the Money Dept.?
How can you encourage your hubby and support his efforts toward the financial well-being of your marriage?
;D
