OK, so I really have been reading ;D although I haven't said anything, lol. My hubby has been doing all sorts of stuff around here, and for one reason or another the computer had to disassembled in order to do so. I decided to stop being lazy and put the darn thing back together today .
I finished reading chapter one, as well as the books of the Bible that she suggested in the end of the chapter for each day. I was pleased that (although sometimes it seems as it makes the book start off slow) that she chose to start the book w/the most important thing - growing in the Lord. Because honestly, as my good friend reminded me yesterday, if we're not doing it (whatever it may be) for the Lord, we will end up very bitter, and have the wrong attitude about the changes that we make in our lives. I know that I personally have to constantly remind myself of 1 Thes 2:4 and Gal 1:10 that I must seek to please God, and not man. Because it never fails that when I live my life trying to please my husband, I am constantly bombarded w/negative thoughts from Satan as to how no one appreciates me, or how I'll never be able to make him happy, or he's never satisfied w/anything that I do. But if I was doing those things as unto the Lord, then the Lord will be pleased w/me, and that's all that matters.
I especially like that she suggested reading Eph. 5, particularly vs.21 which says that we submit to one another in the fear of God. Not because one person is the other's servant as so many try to make submission out to be. It is done out of reverence for our Lord, and to mirror our submission to our Savior.
Another of the suggested readings, Col. 3, is a bible study in and of itself. Some things that stirred up in my spirit as I read is that would pertain to being a wife after his heart is:
That is a lot to digest and pray about, so I know that I will be referring to that list often, even as I move on to the next chapters, to make sure that I am constantly growing in the Lord (1 Cor 3:2).
What did you get out of it?

- take note and restrain our mouths/hearts, and what may be released from them in anger (vs8)
- not lying to our hubbies (v9)
- be kind, humble, meek, and long-suffering (v12)
- bearing w/our husbands and forgiving them (a good one those like me who tend to like holding grudges) as Christ forgives us
- admonishing them (reprove gently, but earnestly) w/ psalm, hymns, and spiritual songs (I would love you ladies input on how we would do this, and what this actually means) vs16
- submitting to them (there's that word again ) vs18
- and making sure to do all these things in the name of the Lord Jesus (vs17) and heartily as unto him, not just for our hubbies or other men/women/pastors/congregations, approval (v23)
