It is so odd that you ask this question because my husband and I just had this discussion today. Although the KJV is harder to read, I am very uncomfortable when our family has a Bible study and our kids bible says one thing and ours says something that means something very different. We must be careful with the play on some of the words. I think it is very good to keep a back up version to verify what you read. Only my opinion but I have come to understand the KJV very well now and it's very fulfilling and not as hard as it used to be for me. I do like to back that up with the Hebrew or Greek Literal Translation Bible because it has all three (Hebrew or Greek , NIV and KJV) in it side by side. And there are some important differences in the translating into todays English. Again just my thoughts.
