I really didn't know where to put this but here you go: (Of course, I didn't write it Read John 21:1-13 Jesus said to [his disciples], "Come and have breakfast." John 21:12 (NRSV) My normal breakfast is two slices of bread and jam plus a quick cup of tea, and then I'm out the door to work. It is enough food for me to start the day, but I still need more food during the day if I am to do my job properly. The same applies in a spiritual sense. Often we can be so busy that we neglect our time with God, to our soul's detriment. We need to start the day by spending some time with the Lord. I start that part of my day by praying as I drive to work. In the story from John 21, the disciples had been out all night doing what they were trained to do, catch fish. But they had nothing to show for their efforts until Jesus arrived. He told them what to do, and by being obedient they caught 153 fish. When they got to the shore, Jesus had breakfast ready and waiting for them on the beach. Prayer: Help us, Lord, to feed off your word faithfully, coming to you for strength each day. Amen. Thought for the Day Spiritual nourishment is the perfect start to every day. Prayer Focus: TO THOSE WHO ARE HUNGRY He said to them, "Come and have breakfast." God offers us the same invitation every day. Let us take time each day to feed on God's word and to talk with God. When we do so, our souls will be fed.

That was great, because our spiritual food is so much more important than even our physical food. So we need to make sure it's first priority (maybe even making a pact w/ourselves to first eat spiritually before we eat physically). Thanks for that thought!
