This recipe is made often around here (by my son), since we always have the ingredients on hand. (you may want to chop the veggies really small if you have picky eaters, they really do add to the taste, though) INGREDIENTS 1 pound lean ground beef / ground turkey (add a couple tblspns Worcesterchire if using turkey) [I've used less meat before (1/2-3/4 lb)and it still worked fine for the 3 of us - but my boys prefer more ]1/4 cup chopped onion 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon yellow mustard 3/4 cup ketchup (you can add more if you like it really "sloppy" ;D)3 teaspoons brown sugar salt to taste ground black pepper to taste hamburger buns (we use homemade whole wheat )DIRECTIONS In a medium skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, onion, and green pepper; drain off liquids. Stir in the garlic powder, mustard, ketchup, and brown sugar; mix thoroughly. Reduce heat, and simmer for 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Serve on buns and enjoy!
