I'm sitting here sipping on my latest protein shake concoction (just finished working out), and thought about you guys. I remember Monique saying how its hard to stomach them sometimes, and I thought I'd share a web page that I found doing an internet search a while back for protein shakes. I've only done a few of them, because I'd forgot all about it until I was getting sick of making the same ol' shake day in day out (not that I don't love my coffee latte protein shake, but you know what I mean). So the other day I pulled this page up again, and made myself the cinnamon roll shake, and presto! My dear hubby was left coveting my shake, because he had already made his own with all of his hodge podge of fruits (and whatever else he feels like adding) that he throws in there with no particular rhyme or reason . Poor baby, I made sure to make it for him the next day (yesterday), and he loves me again . I'm officially the "protein shake maker" of the household again (my title was temporarily revoked before because he didn't like my coffee thing, and started making his own, fattening version [i.e: ice cream, cookies added]) So maybe the men in your life (or you) could use a change once in a while. Well here's a good start. www.bodybuilding.com/fun/proteinshakes.htmYou can also find some ideas here, (click shakes, or smoothies from the box on the left) you would just have to add the protein powder to the regular recipes: allrecipes.com/Recipes/Drinks/Main.aspxHave a good shake! KiKi PS I'm not sure if it affects the taste/texture or not, but I used only one scoop of protein powder, and I used sugar instead of artificial sweetner, and milk where it says milk or water.

That sounds like a good one. But I never liked strawberries and chocolate together. Does the chocolate taste overpower the strawberry taste or vise versa?
I tried a different shake today that I really liked but I'm sure you girls have already tried it. I put a tablespoon of skippy natural peanut butter in my vanilla protein shake and I loved it. But I guess I should mention that I love peanut butter.
Hey have you ever tried a "reeses peanut butter protein shake"? That sounds good. (peanut butter in the chocolate protein shake).

I tried the pb chocolate last weekend...a recipe from o2's website..it was just: 8 oz water 4-6 ice cubes 1 tbls heavy whipping cream (I tried yogurt instead of this and it didn't come out as well, maybe adding splenda would help? This ingredient seemed kindof unhealthy to me) 1-2 scoops chocolate pp 1 tbls natural peanut butter The chocolate/strawberry shake was a good mixture of both flavors. I made it last night for work today with cherries and chocolate and it was just as good...I love any kind of berry w/chocolate tho!

That recipe for the pb and chocolate sounds good, I think I'll try that one. Only I think I'll use the non-dairy lowfat whip cream.

I've tried blueberry and chocolate before, and it was suprisingly REALLY good, I'll have to find the recipe though. I didn't think I liked chocolate and berries, but I'm finding that I really do! That choc blueberry one turned me around.
