OK, OK, so the scale wasn't broke . But my mode of thinking was. Now that I'm getting that squared away, I've been back at it w/a vengance (hey I gotta make up for lost time here ), and doing weights and cardio 5-6 days/week. I will only do this for one more week (don't wanna be busting out of the seams of my bridesmaid dress next weekend ) and then I will probably go back to doing 3 days of weights (mon, wed, fri) and 2-3 days cardio (tues, thurs, sun?). I don't know, I haven't decided yet. Most of the weight has come off, some has been replaced w/muscle, and I must say, that I look and feel better than ever (or at least that what my hubby keeps saying as he wipes away the drool ). I've revamped my eating (although it was never horrible, I was just allowing one too many cheat meals each week), and my workout routine. But I knew that there had to be something else, because my eating hadn't changed drastically, and it was usually something that I could bounce right back from because I eat generally healthy and am quite active.
I've also realized that a very big portion of my weight gain was due to not getting enough sleep. Studies continue to show, over and over, that getting adequate rest contributes largely to your weight loss, maintenance success. I'm the type that will go all day and all night and never rest. Although my household benefits from my "lamp not going out at night", my health does not. So I'm forcing myself to find a happy medium. Because all of my hard work will mean nothing w/o enough rest for my muscles to recouperate. Here's a little more info on my findings:

And that's just a few studies, just try and Google "weight loss sleep" and see what you find. Ladies, we just may end up thwarting our own efforts if we're constantly burning the midnight oil...
